Carousel Setup
Overview
The carousel is the primary component for displaying shoppable videos on your storefront. This guide covers all configuration options.
Creating a Carousel
- Navigate to Videoselz > Carousels in your Shopify admin.
- Click New Carousel.
- Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Homepage Hero", "Collection Page Videos").
- Select one or more videos to include.
Layout Options
Videoselz offers two layout modes:
| Layout | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Scroll | Horizontal scrollable strip of video cards | Homepage, landing pages |
| Grid | Fixed grid of video thumbnails | Collection pages, galleries |
Appearance Settings
Customize the visual appearance of your carousel:
- Cards per row: Number of visible video thumbnails on desktop (1-6, default 4).
- Corner radius: Rounded corners on video cards in pixels (0-24, default 8).
- Gap spacing: Space between video cards in pixels (0-32, default 12).
- Aspect ratio: Choose between 9:16 (portrait), 16:9 (landscape), or 1:1 (square).
Autoplay Behavior
- Autoplay: Videos start playing automatically when they scroll into view.
- Mute by default: Videos begin muted to comply with browser autoplay policies.
- Loop: Videos restart automatically when they reach the end.
All three are enabled by default and can be toggled per carousel.
Mobile Behavior
On screens narrower than 768px, carousels automatically adjust:
- Cards per row reduces to 2.
- Horizontal scroll is enabled with snap points.
- Touch gestures (swipe) are supported natively.
You can override the mobile cards-per-row setting in the carousel configuration.
