Player Modes

Videos first appear as cards in the carousel (or as stories). What happens when a shopper taps one is set by Open Player in the Videoselz Carousel theme block.

Fullscreen Player (default)

The fullscreen player (the watch page) opens as an overlay, with the tagged products shown on the video. Shoppers scroll vertically between the videos in the playlist, and Arrow Position in Settings → Watchpage (Fullscreen) sets where the arrows sit.

Floating Player

The floating (picture-in-picture) player is a small video window that stays on screen while the shopper scrolls. Its size is set with Floating Player Size (Small, Medium or Large) in the theme block.

Set Open Player to None to keep videos playing in the carousel only.

Player Controls

These controls can be shown or hidden in Settings → Watchpage (Fullscreen):

Video progress bar (fullscreen and floating)
Mute button (fullscreen and floating)
Share button (fullscreen)
Floating button — switches between the fullscreen and floating players

You can also show your brand logo on the fullscreen player, as text or an image from your Shopify Files.

Videoselz accepts MP4 and MOV (H.264 or H.265). For best compatibility, use H.264 encoding. Shopify processes each upload into several sizes.

Playback Performance

Carousel cards load a small version of each video only when they scroll into view. The fullscreen player loads a 720p version (falling back to 1080p, then the original) and only for the current video and the ones on either side of it.
